ABOUT BURLESQUE RADIO
Once upon a time, a team of passionate burlesque enthusiasts were running a burlesque venue called The Boom Boom Room in Saint Louis Mo. They were running the largest burlesque club in the US, The Boom Boom Room STL. Over the course of 13 years, they carefully curated a collection of burlesque music to use in their shows and breaks, with a focus on creating a particular feeling for their customers. Then the COVID experence happend and they were closed down. They had no idea how long it would be closed. It was scary, so to keep their mind moving they kept creating projects for two years. In hopes one day they would re open. The closed their old location and found a new location with the promise they would not pay rent untill they opend but in return they would work to fix and build it. In that time when not building the owners worked on Boom Boom Room Burlesque Radio. They learned how to make a station, starting looking for more music and catagorizing it. And making DJ funny moments. The idea was something free, that would be fun, and funny at times. Papa Pasties prides himself on being the worst DJ ever. But the music keeps playng. Now, it is just their and peoople around the world find it and listen.
The Boom Boom Room is open and thriving and play Burlesqeu Radio in the vunue, at the front door, before and after shows, at the restaurant and even has a very small leagle FM boardcaster with the reach of about one city block. However there are other ways to hear. Like on this web site, on its on Phone App you can download for free. You can hear it on your Alexa app.

So why did we do it?
But they (we) didn't want to keep this magical feeling to themselves. They wanted to share it with the world.

Boom Boom Room Burlesque Radio was created by The Boom Boom Room STL, the largest burlesque club in the US. After 10 years of collecting music for our shows, breaks, it led to a journey that had a theme. The theme was a feeling we wanted our customers to experience so we decided to share that with the world, with no sponsors, no ads, just music that was inspired by burlesque.
A fun free radio station that has no commercials, is upbeat, funny, no real news, politics, or opinions, all satire and comedy between the music that plays non-stop. It is Burlesque "inspired" music, not just burlesque music. Everything from, Paridies, (Pop songs done in vintage styles that make you laugh) New, Old, Vintage, Blues, Jazz, Rag, ElectroSwing, Pop, Show Tunes, comedy songs, even dirty songs from the 1910s and 20s that maybe your great Grandmaw listened to. Harder to describe that show, so just listen, and if you like it, enjoy it. Why do we do this? Like our shows, we just love to make an audience smile.
The Music: Well, let’s see, we have traditional burlesque songs, but then there was so much more that was inspired by the burlesque music. Fun Paradies of popular music, or Electro Swing, Big Band Swing, and completely inappropriate funny dirty songs from the 1920s. Really great Grandma, “THIS” is what you were listening to? :).
It all begins with an idea.
History: We own and produce shows at the "World Famous" Boom Boom Room STL. It is the largest burlesque club in the country based out of St. Louis Mo. USA. Over the ten-plus years, we have collected a lot of music to put on burlesque shows and for music before and after the shows. The BBR is all about escapism, so we needed full control of our show music, even before and after the shows to guarantee happy sounds. To do this we had to make our own ever-changing playlist. Before we knew it, we had thousands of songs.
People would ask us all the time, who is this, what is this, how can I listen to this, so we created our first DJ sound bits that would rotate the music before the shows. “Hello, I am Papa Pastie, and you are listening to Boom Boom Room Radio”. Then we expanded to the front door till finally we were at a coffee shop and the person behind the desk asked, “do you have a radio station?”, very impressed so we thought, (as the espresso kicked in) YES WE DO! Telling the truth in advance. We set out on the journey to start our own internet radio station inspired by the burlesque shows. We also included soundtracks from movies like, Burlesque, Cabaret, Chicago, which are all movies we have watched over and over again looking for show inspiration.
